BSDC Employees Bound Over to Districe Court

Beatrice Daily Sun reports two of the five Beatrice State Developmental Center employees accused of physically and verbally abusing clients were bound over to Gage County District Court Tuesday morning.

Matthew B. Johnson, 20, and Matthew L. Pangborn, 30, waived their rights to a preliminary hearing in county court and are set for arraignment in district court on Dec. 21.

The other three individuals accused of abuse — Cameron Barnes, 21, Cody A. Creek, 23, and Carmen C. Yates, 23 — have county court dates scheduled for Oct. 31.

A total of 31 charges were filed against the five employees —all of whom have been charged with abuse of a vulnerable adult, a class IIIA felony. Four of the five employees have also been charged with strangulation, a class IV felony.
