Pruning Workshop To Be Held In Washington

Kim Bomberger, Kansas Forest Service Community Forester and David Coltrain, River Valley Extension Agent, will present a program about tree and shrub pruning. Participants will learn the basics of pruning and find out how to accomplish this important task. Guidelines will be presented for all types of shrubs, deciduous and coniferous trees and fruit trees if interest is expressed.

Everyone with an interest in learning about pruning is encouraged to attend one of the following “Pruning Trees and Shrubs Workshops:”

• Washington: Tuesday, November 8, 4 pm at the Washington Courthouse

• Concordia: Tuesday, November 22, 4 pm at the Cloud Courthouse

• Actual pruning techniques will be demonstrated outside, so dress appropriately.

The program is free. Interested persons can pre-register by calling the Extension office in Washington at 785-325-2121. A minimum of 10 registrations is needed for each workshop. If you have questions please contact David Coltrain at 785-325-2121.
