State Treasurer Ron Estes and staff members will be in Seneca on Tuesday afternoon from 3 to 4:30 in the community room at the Seneca Public Library as part of the State Treasurer‘s ” Unclaimed Property Returns” tour. Anyone can visit the Library and have their name checked for free. In addition, the staff from the Treasurer’s Office will check the name of family members and friends also for free

Unclaimed property includes inactive savings and checking accounts, uncashed checks, stock shares and bonds, dividend checks, insurance proceeds, mineral royalties and utility deposits.
The State Treasurer‘s office also holds cash, stock and bonds, safe deposit boxes are also turned over to the. There are currently more than 15-thousand safe deposit box properties on file.
