Partnership Attempting to Keep SRS Office in Marysville

The Marshall County Partnership for Growth is asking the public to help pay the rent, utilities and supplies for the SRS office in Marysville. George McCune, Marshall County Economic Development Director has sent an email asking for financial support to keep an office located in Marysville. The Partnership is attempting to raise $10,000 in the next 24 hours.

The effort to keep an SRS office in Marysville suffered a setback when the Marshall County Commissioners voted against using taxpayer money to keep the local office open.

According to Commissioner Bob Connell the majority of county taxpayers who spoke to him were against using county tax money to pay for a state program. Connell said commissioners also received information that the employees assigned to the SRS Office in Marysville would be offered the opportunity to relocate.

Supporters of the effort must raise a total of $64,255 dollars to pay the rent, utilities and supply expenses necessary to keep an SRS Office in Marysville.
