The Beatrice State Developmental Center is under investigation once again. The Nebraska State Patrol confirmed Wednesday it is investigating abuse and neglect allegations at one unit in the center.
Patrol spokesperson said the investigation was requested by the Department of Health and Human Services and is ongoing.
Spokesperson for the Center said the department has suspended all staff involved in the allegations. They have also taken precautions to the residents involved, including moving them.
The state is in the process of recertifying five intermediate care facilities at BSDC. Three have federally certified and began receiving federal funding as of July 28. To receive federal funding each unit must pass a state licensing survey and two federal surveys.
As of March, about 158 residents lived at the center.
