Partnership for Growth to Discuss SRS Agreement

Marshall County Partnership for Growth will meet Tuesday 5:35 at the Marshall County Courthouse. The agenda for the meeting includes several items related to the agreement between the city of Marysville and the state of Kansas SRS Department. The Partnership for Growth would provide funding to SRS through the city of Marysville. George McCune will report on the current fund drive. In the last week McCune coordinated a fund drive that raised nearly $10,000 in cash and pledges from the community. These funds would be used to fund the Marysville SRS Office for one year. A discussion will also be held asking if the Partnership will assist with funding for a second year.

The agenda will also ask how many jobs and services has SRS agreed to retain at the Marysville office. Currently the office has eleven employees. The agreement between the city of Marysville and SRS does not specify the number of employees who will remain at the SRS office in Marysville. According to Mayor Bill Phillipi It does require services to remain substantially the same.
