Two Juvenilles Arrested for Multiple Auto Thefts

A 15 and 17 year old were arrested on Wednesday for multiple vehicle thefts including a Mercedes sedan found in the Chautauqua Park duck pond Tuesday morning.

Shortly after 3:30 a.m., a Gage County Sheriff’s Deputy discovered an abandoned vehicle in a ditch near South 36th Road and East Locust Road. It was determined that the vehicle was also stolen from the 1000 block of Meriwether.

At about 4:52 a.m., Beatrice Police Sgt. Doug Coon observed a four wheeler with two occupants driving south near the intersection of 16th and Court streets in Beatrice.

The four wheeler didn’t immediately stop and a brief pursuit ensued. It was finally stopped in the 600 block of Bell Street The juveniles are charged with multiple vehicle thefts including the theft of a Mercedes that reported missing early Tuesday morning.
