In related news, during the round table discussion at the Marysville City Council Meeting on Monday a question was asked about the effort to keep the Marysville SRS Service Center open. County commissioner Bob Connell, who was in the audience, spoke in response to a question. According to Connell SRS had not approached the county commissioners. He said Marysville Mayor Bill Phillipi appeared at a commissioner’s meeting with the memorandum of agreement and that was the first time the commissioner’s were asked to participate in funding the SRS office. Connell explained that it was a state decision to close the office and the county commissioners did not believe the county should be paying to keep open a state office.
