This is a copy of the official report released by the Gage County Sheriff’s Office.
On August 19th, 2011 at approximately 1545 hours, Gage County Communications advised of a two vehicle injury accident that occurred at Southwest 142nd and Aspen Roads. Upon arrival, the deputy found 24 year old Stephanie Meinke of Clatonia and her son, Daniel, 3 years of age, still inside their 2001 Ford sedan and 40 year old Kelly Little of Hallam also inside her vehicle, a 2011 Chevy SUV. All occupants of the accident were injured.
Stephanie Meinke was life flighted via Star Care V to Bryan LGH West for her injuries and her son, was taken to Crete Hospital where he was treated and released. Little was taken to Bryn LGH West via ground ambulance where she was treated for her injuries.
Investigation revealed that Meinke’s vehicle was traveling southbound on Southwest 142nd Road and entered the intersection where she collided with Little’s vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Aspen Road. Both vehicles arrived at final rest in a field southeast of the intersection.
Seatbelts, airbags, and child safety seats were all in use. Alcohol is not a factor in the accident.
Responding agencies to the accident were the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, Clatonia Fire and Rescue, Wilber Fire and Rescue, Cortland Fire, and Star Care V.
