Three Arrested for Refusing to Leave Jail

On Sunday, Gage County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the front door of the Sheriff’s Office in reference to loud yelling and pounding on the front door. Upon their arrival, they made contact with three individuals: 31 year old Aaron Burr, 23 year old Catie Tellinghuisen, and 61 year old Thomas Sailors all of Beatrice.

After deputies answered the individuals’ question about the bond amount, they were asked to leave the Sheriff’s Office. The individuals did not comply. Deputies advised the individuals they were under arrest for not leaving the area. A short physical altercation between the deputies and suspects ensued. The three were taken into custody and escorted inside to the Detention Center.

Deputies also located a bag of marijuana in the pocket of Thomas Sailors. Thomas Sailors was charged with Possession of Marijuana and Loitering About a Penal Institution. Catie Tellinghuisen and Aaron Burr were both charged with Resisting Arrest, Obstructing a Peace Officer, and Loitering About a Penal Institution.
