Second Suspect Arrested in Bern School Burglary

The Nemaha County Sheriff‘s Department has arrested 30-year-old Brandon Frye of Oneida Friday on a Nemaha County warrant charging him with burglary, theft and criminal damage to property. The warrant was the result of an investigation into a burglary last month at the Bern school. Frye was also arrested on a second warrant for probation violation. Frye remains in the Nemaha County Jail.

21-year-old Dylon Barrett of Oneida was arrested last month in connection with the break-in at the Bern school. He also faces charges of burglary, theft and criminal damage to property. Barrett is currently free on bond.

The Bern school was broken into sometime July 21st or 22nd. Taken were numerous items belonging to the school and to private residents of the area who had personal belongings at the school.

Most of the stolen items have been recovered.
