Pony Express Re-ride Rescheduled

The National Pony Express Re-ride has been rescheduled. Jim Swigart, the national president of the Pony Express Riders said the re-enactment was postponed due to the outbreak of a deadly horse virus. According to Swigart this is the first ride postponed in the 32 year history of the event.

The re-ride will now begin in St. Joseph Missouri on August 17th and end in Sacramento on August 27th. More than 1000 volunteers and 600 horses have been re-enacting the ride since 1979. The ride passes through Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, and Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, and California.
