RV catches fire in Marysville

Marysville firefighters and emergency responders were called to the scene of an RV on fire on Center Street, near 12th Street Sunday afternoon in Marysville.

Marshall County Emergency Management Director Bill Schwindamann said a couple from Oregon, their cat and dog managed to escape unharmed from the fire, which billowed thick black smoke.

People in the area said they heard a loud boom as the fire erupted. Officials spent a couple of hours directing traffic around the vehicle as they doused and cleaned up the burned shell of the camper and cab. They were not certain of the cause.
