A 65-year-old rural Odell man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover accident northwest of Odell, which was discovered early Saturday morning. At about 7:45 a.m. Saturday, an employee of the Norris Public Power District was investigating a power outage in the area of Pine Road and the Odell Blacktop. The employee located a wrecked vehicle in a field along Pine Road about a half-mile west of the Odell Blacktop. Upon investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Larry Vitosh, was found partially ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. According to a press release from the Gage County Sheriff’s office, Vitosh was traveling west on Pine Road when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, struck a fence and hit a power pole, causing the vehicle to roll once. The sheriff’s report stated seatbelts were not in use and added it is unknown whether alcohol was a factor in the accident. The investigation into the accident is ongoing, pending results of an autopsy.
