Wymore Man Injured in Two Vehicle Accident

A one vehicle semi truck accident resulted in injury on Friday and temporarily blocked Highway 36 just south of Axtell in Marshall County. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that James Ruark of St. Joseph, Missouri was eastbound and lost control of his semi and trailer around mile marker 312 and overturned, blocking the highway around 1:20 PM on Friday. Ruark was taken to Nemaha Valley Community Hospital with injuries.

A Wymore, Nebraska man was injured Thursday, April 28, in a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 103 and Highway 4. At 0758 hours, emergency units responded to a report of a two vehicle accident with injuries. A car driven by 16 year old Lawrence J. Haake of Plymouth, Nebraska was traveling eastbound on Highway 4. A van driven by 62 year old Marvin W. Theye of Wymore, Nebraska was traveling westbound on West Highway 4. Mr. Haake attempted to turn north onto Highway 103 from Highway 4 and failed to yield to Mr. Theye. Mr. Theye was unable to stop his vehicle and collided with the Oldsmobile Royale in the intersection.

Mr. Theye sustained injuries from the accident and was transported to Beatrice Community Hospital by Beatrice Rescue. The seriousness of his injuries is currently unknown. Mr. Haake sustained minor injuries from the accident. He was treated for his injuries at the scene and released to family members. Gage county Sheriff reports that citations are currently pending.
