Marshall County Emergency Director Serving in Reading, Kansas

Bill Schwindamann, Marshall County Emergency Director is among the many emergency personnel who are working in the city of Reading, Kansas after a tornado destroyed much of the town at 9:15 P.M. Saturday night.

Carly Tyler, Assistant to Schwindamann said he was called to respond to Reading early Sunday morning by the State of Kansas Emergency Management. Tyler said the Schwindamann is the acting safety officer for the response in Reading. According to Tyler the Emergency Management Directors across the state are divided into four groups which are called to major disasters in the state as necessary.

Tyler also would like to remind everyone that severe weather is a possibility for the next several days and being prepared is important.
