Marshall County will have two wheat plots for wheat producers to tour.
The first tour will be the Marshall County Wheat Plot Tour, which will be held on Wednesday, June 8. The tour will begin at 6:00 P.M. at the Richard Holthaus Farm, located a little over 1 mile north of Axtell on 30th Road. There will be 13 wheat varieties and blends to see at the tour. Following the tour, there will be a supper served by the Axtell Busy Bees 4-H Club.
The second tour will be Chris Bargmann’s 4-H Plot, which will be held on Friday, June 10. The tour will begin at 11:00 A.M. The 4-H Plot is located ½ mile south of the Immanuel Lutheran Church on 3rd Road. There will be 7 wheat varieties and blends to see at this tour. Following the tour a lunch will be served.
At both locations you will be able to hear about the latest wheat varieties, production practices, and latest wheat production practices from KSU Extension personnel, and industry personnel.
