COMMISSION MINUTES, April 25, 2011
The Board of Washington County Commission met in regular session on Monday, April 25, 2011 in the commission room at the Washington County Courthouse. Present: Roger Otott, 2nd District Commissioner, Chairman; Gene Helms, 3rd District Commissioner and Kathy Fritz, Deputy County Clerk. Absent were Alison Mueller, 1st District Commissioner and Lou Kern, County Clerk.
Chairman Otott called the meeting to order.
The next regular meeting will be Monday, May 2, 2011 at 8:30 A.M.
David Coltrain and Robin Slattery, River Valley Extension District # 4 agents met with the board.
Gloria Moore, Tourism Director, reported on her activities for April as well as events scheduled for May.
Ellen Anderson, 12th JD Adult & Juvenile Corrections Director, asked the board for their approval for the Department of Corrections grants they are seeking. Gene Helms moved to accept the application for the grants. Roger Otott seconded and motion carried. Roger Otott, Chairman, signed the application.
Duane Bruna, Noxious Weed and Solid Waste Director, met with the board. The board gave Duane permission to hire two full time employees. There will be no summer help hired this year.
Bill Dickson, Sheriff, met with the board. The jail currently is housing 23 inmates from Sedgwick County and two from Washington County. A female inmate from Washington County is being held in the Marshall County Jail. Sealed bids will be taken for two cars and one pickup.
Christy L’Ecuyer, Business Coordinator, met with the board.
David Willbrant, Public Works Administrator, gave his weekly work report and reviewed his monthly budget report for March.
The board received notification in the mail that Livingston Enterprises – Hillside View are requesting a permit to build a new enclosed swine building for 4800 head at the SW4 of 03-01-01.
There being no further business the board adjourned at 11:400 A.M.
