Firemen responded to another series of fires in Hanover Thursday night. Two residences and a warehouse owned by Hanover Electric were involved. The cause remains to be determined, and will be investigated. However, investigation into several fires in the Hanover community over the past several years have turned up little evidence in convicting a suspected arsonist.
The Washington County Community Foundation encourages the public to attend a meeting on Tuesday, May 3 with Pete Peterson of Salina. He will address options with regard to community foundations, related benefits, and means of contributing. Peterson is an attorney specializing in tax, financial, and estate planning, and is a certified financial planner. He will answer questions regarding how people can get involved with the Washington Community Foundation, and board members will also be in attendance to explain the program. The meeting again is Tuesday, 2:30 pm at the First National Bank in Washington.
