Brian Daubendiek, 24, was arrested Sunday for operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest and obstructing a police officer. According to court documents a Nebraska State Trooper observed a white pickup speeding near the junction of First Road and Hickory Road north of Beatrice March 18 at about 1:26 a.m. The pickup refused to stop and was finally abandoned by the driver, who fled the scene.
The pickup belonged to Daubendiek. His residence was one mile south of the location where the pickup was abandoned. A search warrant was granted for Daubendiek’s mobile phone records. The records showed Daubendiek received calls and sent messages to friends the night of the incident indicating he was allegedly fleeing from the police.
Daubendiek was arrested Sunday. A criminal check done by the state patrol indicated this is the second time Daubendiek has been arrested for flight to avoid arrest.
His bond was set at $5,000.
