Hanover Cemetery was the victim of vandals in February. Approximately 25 grave stones were pushed over during the night of February 18th. The majority of the vandalized stones were in the southeast corner of the cemetery. Keith Allerheiligen, cemetery sexton, reported Thursday that they are still in the process of lifting the stones back into place. He said that so far none of the stones placed back on their pedestals were damaged. Allerheiligen credits the soft ground at the time of the vandalism for keeping the stones from being damaged. He believes all the stones will be returned to their places by the weekend.
