An inmate escaped from the Richardson County Jail in Falls City, NE early Sunday and is still at large.
26-year-old Michael Ray Thompson escaped about 2:30 a.m. Thompson then overpowered the female jailer and handcuffed her to the bars. Thompson took the jailers cell phone, but didn’t take any money or car keys from her purse.
It’s the second time he has escaped Richardson County authorities.
On January 20th, Thompson fled from a Falls City doctors office after being transported there by the Richardson County Sheriff’s Department. He was recaptured later that day at an apartment in Falls City following a tip from the public.
Thompson was originally arrested by the Falls City Police Department on January 19th on an outstanding felony theft warrant out of Arkansas, and was awaiting extradition. He also faces a felony escape charge in Richardson County stemming from the January 20th incident.
Thompson is described as a white male, about 6 foot 1 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds with dark blond hair and brown eyes. He is a diabetic and described by Sheriff Randy Houser as very skinny.
Thompson was able to get into the jail locker and get clothes. He may be wearing a black hoodie, black pants, a hat and white tennis shoes.
