Hassler has No Comment on Firing

Washington City Administrator Kurt Hassler was terminated by the Washington City Council during a special meeting on Thursday.

Hassler was hired by the city of Washington in June of 2008.

According to the meeting minutes the council returned to open session after two executive sessions lasting approximately 35 minutes. Justin Cordry immediately made a motion to terminate of employment of Kurt Hassler as city administrator effective immediately. The motion was seconded by Councilman Gene Martin. The motion was passed, with Justin Cordry, Ryan Kern, Jean Martin, and Mike Uhlrich voting for and Meyler Gibbs voted against.

KNDY contacted Hassler by email. He replied saying that he believed it would be inappropriate to comment at this time.
