During the 2009 Tax Season, over 600 taxpayers in Northeast Kansas had their federal and state income tax forms prepared free of charge by RSVP’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. RSVP of Northeast Kansas is again sponsoring the VITA program, as well as the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program. Volunteers will help prepare federal and state tax forms, as well as, Homestead and Food Sales Tax. Volunteers are available at the RSVP Office in Marysville each Wednesday from February 2-April 13 – 9:00-11:00 a.m. and 1:00-3:00 p.m. The volunteers will also visit surrounding towns:
Frankfort – Friday, February 11
Waterville – Thursday, February 17 Blue Rapids – Thursday, February 27
Axtell- Monday, February 28
Summerfield – Friday, March
Any individual can be seen at any of the sites listed. You do not have to be a resident of that county to take advantage of these services.
