CASE: 2010-4905 & 2010-5460

In the months of October and November of 2010, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office received reports by two females who reported they were consuming alcohol at a local establishment in Pickrell, NE.  Both females reported that they experienced symptoms that are not common for the amount of alcohol they had consumed.  Through the Gage County Sheriff’s Office’s investigation, the symptoms that both females reported were common with that of being under the influence of mind altering drugs.

Those symptoms reported include nausea, breathing difficulties, and memory loss. These symptoms match those of the depressant known as GHB (gamma hydroxybutyrate). GHB has a street name more known as the “Date Rape” drug.  GHB is a depressant that is available in odorless and tasteless liquid form.  This substance can be placed in a beverage and ingested without the victim’s knowledge.  It takes effect 10-20 minutes after it is ingested and its effects typically last up to four hours.

This investigation is ongoing and the Gage County Sheriff’s Office asks that anyone who has information related to these reports, please contact the Gage County Sheriff’s Office at 402-223-5221 and ask to speak with Investigator John Chavez or contact Gage County Crimestoppers at 402-228-4343.  A cash reward is possible with the result of an arrest and/or conviction.
