Unemployment rose during the month November in all but one Kansas County. Kansas Department of Labor released the unemployment figures Friday. Atchison County was the only county to see a decrease from 8.3 percent down to 8.0 percent.
Marshall County unemployment was 4.8 percent up from 4.4 percent in October, Washington County increased from 3.8 percent in October to 4.2 percent, and Nemaha County increased to 3.7 percent up from 3.6 percent in October.
The State unemployment rate hit 6.7 percent last month. That’s up from 6.4 percent in October and 6.3 percent in November 2009. Kansas added 3,000 non-farm jobs last month, including 17-hundred in the private sector. The state Labor Department says Kansas has added 78-hundred private jobs since November of last year.
