Celebrate Christmas – Church Services

Baptist

The First Baptist Church, Marysville, will have a Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m.

Victory Baptist Church, Marysville will have a Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. The church will have a Watch Night starting at 8 p.m. New Year’s Eve and will have games and food.

The First Baptist Church in Blue Rapids will be having its regular Sunday services at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday and Jan. 2. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.

Berean

Marysville Berean will have a candlelight service at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve.

Catholic

Mass at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Marysville, will be at 5:30 p.m. with music by the adult choir and at midnight with music by the youth. Mass on Christmas Day will be at 9 a.m. There will be no 5:30 p.m. Mass on Saturday, but Masses are at the usual times on Sunday, at 7 and 10:30 a.m.

St. Malachy’s, Beattie, Christmas service is at 9 p.m. Friday. Veronica Olmsted will be song leader, and the choir will sing. There will be no Mass in Beattie on Christmas Day. The Sunday, Dec. 26, Mass will be at the regular time, 8:45 a.m.

Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church, Summerfield will be 9 p.m. Christmas Eve.

St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Axtell, will have Mass at 10:30 p.m. Christmas Eve and at 10:15 a.m. Christmas Day.

St. Monica-St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Blue Rapids, will have a Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m. The church will have Mass at 8:30 a.m. Sunday.

Christmas Eve Mass will be at 9 p.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church, Frankfort. Christmas Day Mass will be at 9 a.m. There will be no Saturday evening vigil Mass at Annunciation or St. Joseph’s, Lillis. Mass on Sunday will be at 7 and 10:30 a.m. Mass on Jan. 1 is at 9 a.m. Jan. 1 is celebrated as the Feast of Mary the Mother of God and is a Holy Day, but is not obligatory.

St. Joseph, Lillis, will have Christmas Eve Mass at 4 p.m. and Mass at noon on Sunday.

Episcopal

Christmas Eve Eucharist will be at 5:30 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Blue Rapids.

Eucharist will be at 7:30 p.m. Christmas Eve at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Marysville.

Evangelical United Church of Christ

The Evangelical United Church of Christ, Marysville, will have its annual Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. The service will include songs, a children’s bell choir and a living Nativity, all provided by the Sunday school. The service will open with a piano-organ duet by Maybelle Circle and Debbie Bruna and will close with the traditional “Silent Night” by candlelight, accompanied by organ, piano and bells.

First Christian

Family Christmas Eve worship will be at 6:30 p.m. at First Christian Church, Marysville. The service will include the songs of the season, Christmas Scriptures, lighting of the Christ candle and a special message, “When the Messiah Comes — A Child Will Be Born,” by the pastor. During the service the congregation will share Christmas Communion, decorate the Enchanted Tree by putting leaves on it and sing “Silent Night” as individual candles are lighted.

Lutheran

Salem Lutheran Church, Axtell, will have a Christmas Eve service at 10 p.m.

A candlelight and Communion service will be at 7 p.m. Christmas Eve at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Waterville.

Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Marysville, will have a candlelight Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. The Christmas Day celebration will be at 9 a.m. Worship will be at 10 a.m. Dec. 26. New Year’s Eve worship with Holy Communion will be at 6 p.m.

Zion Lutheran Church, Hanover, will have a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 7:30 p.m.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Bremen, will have a Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m. and Christmas day service at 8 a.m. The New Year’s Day service will be at 9 a.m.

Bremen Immanuel Lutheran Christmas Eve service will be at 7 p.m. A service will be at 10 a.m. on Christmas Day. New Year’s Eve service will be at 7 p.m.

Marysville Christian Fellowship

Christmas Eve service will be at 7 p.m. at Marysville Christian Fellowship. The family service will include special music, candle lighting and Communion.

Presbyterian

The First Presbyterian Church, Frankfort, will have a service of Lessons and Carols at 5:30 p.m. Christmas Eve with special music and a candlelight service with the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.

Memorial Presbyterian Church, Marysville, will have Lessons and Carols at 7:00 p.m. Christmas Eve. There will be special music and a candlelight service with the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.

United Presbyterian Church, Blue Rapids, will worship with Oregon Trail Presbyterian Ministry partner congregations on Christmas Eve.

New Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Blue Rapids, will have a Christmas Eve candlelight and Communion service at 7 p.m. at the Blue Rapids Community Center.

United Methodist

Christmas Eve services for Waterville and Blue Rapids United Methodist churches will be at the Blue Rapids church at 7 p.m.

Marysville United Methodist Church Christmas Eve candlelight Communion service will be at 7 p.m.

Frankfort United Methodist Church Christmas Eve service will be at 5 p.m.

The Axtell United Methodist Church will have open Communion from 5 to 7 p.m. Christmas Eve. On Dec. 26, Family Christmas Worship will be at 11 a.m. with stories and Christmas carols. Sunday school will be at 10 a.m.

Beattie United Methodist Church will have Communion and a candle-lighting service at 6:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve. On Dec. 26, Family Christmas Worship will be at 9 a.m. with stories and Christmas carols. Sunday school will be at 10
