2 Marysville teens injured in accident

DATE:        December 12, 2010

LOCATION:    S 162nd and Sage Rd

TIME:    0800

OFFENSE:     Injury Accident

CASE:            2010-6015

On December 12, 2010 at approximately 0500 hrs, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office was contacted about two missing individuals. They had last been heard from at about 10 minutes before midnight advising they were on their way home.  Michael “Todd” Gordon, 39 years old, from Barneston was driving his 1991 Oldsmobile Bravada from Wymore to Barneston.  In the vehicle with him, he had Drake Poley, 19 years old of Marysville, KS and Kyle Hudlin, 17 years old of Marysville, KS.

Apparently, Gordon missed the turn to Barneston and continued to S 162nd where he turned south.  Gordon continued southbound on S 162nd to Sage.  Gordon was unable to negotiate the curve from S 162nd to Sage, and left the roadway, sliding sideways, until rolling.  The vehicle rolled 4 times, coming to rest on its wheels.  Poley was able to get out of the vehicle, and walked approximately 5 miles, cross-country, until coming to a farm house to seek help.  Poley allegedly did not remember being in the accident and was taken to a residence.

At approximately 0800 hrs, deputies were alerted by a passerby to Gordon’s vehicle south of the intersection of S162nd and Sage Rd.  Deputies were able to locate Gordon and Hudlin inside of a nearby residence, suffering from multiple injuries.  Neither Gordon nor Hudlin allegedly could remember any details of the accident.  Both were transported to Bryan-LGH hospital for treatment of their injuries, and Poley was taken privately to the Marysville Hospital.

Seatbelts were not in use, and the investigation is ongoing.
