Brown County Sheriff seeks public’s help to find suspicious person.

The Brown County Sheriff’s office is asking for information from the public on an individual seen inside a stolen car parked along a road in the southern portion of the county.
Sheriff John Merchant says the car, a green Volkswagen with Missouri plate’s, was parked in the area of 150th and Sunflower Roads on the east side of the road.
Merchant says the vehicle was reported to the Kansas Highway Patrol this ( Monday ) morning. A check revealed the car had been stolen from southern Missouri.
He said several residents reported seeing a white male around 40-years of age with a mustache occupying the car Sunday.
Merchant says it was discovered this ( Monday ) morning that a residence near the area had been broken into while the owners were away and items taken.
Merchant says they have reason to believe the man was picked up and transported from the area. However, he says they are asking for anyone with information on the individual or who notices any suspicious person matching his description contact the Brown County Sheriff’s office at 785-742-7125.
