Blue Valley Tele-Communications’ 13th annual Giving Tree project is currently underway. Christmas (Giving) Trees have been distributed to local businesses in Marshall, Nemaha, Washington, and Pottawatomie Counties. Christmas cards designed by the Joy Club children of Frankfort United Methodist Church have placed on the trees for adoption. Wish lists are located inside the cards.
Anyone wishing to spread the spirit of Christmas is invited to stop in at one of the following businesses to pick up a card. The purchased gifts should be returned to that location by December 13 to ensure adequate time for delivery.

Beattie – Bank of the Prairie
Blaine – Hofman Farm Supply
Centralia – US Post Office
Frankfort – United Methodist Church

Over the past 12 years, the program has grown significantly; with the current economic situation playing an instrumental role. Approximately 300 local children and families are requesting assistance this year. One mother expressed her appreciation of the program on her application stating “I appreciate the kind hearted people of this community who will be our Santa this year.” The program would not exist without the support and generosity of the community.
Anyone wishing to contribute donations of gift wrap, boxes, tissue paper, gift bags, non-perishable food items, or cash is encouraged to contact Jada Ackerman at 877-876-1228 or email jada@bluevalley.net.
