Pickrell Man Arrested for Allegedly Throwing A Child Into A Wall

A Pickrell man was arrested after allegedly throwing a 10-year-old child into a wall. 39-year-old Shannon L. Haake was arrested Saturday for child abuse after deputies responded to a disturbance call.

A witness told the deputy that Haake threw the child into a wall, damaging the wall and injuring the child.  According to witnesses the child rode a 4-wheeler earlier in the day and damaged some corn.  Haake discovered the damaged corn and became angry, throwing the child.  The deputy reported a bruise on the child’s chest, allegedly from Haake pushing him.

After the arrest Haake admitted he was angry about the corn.  He denied pushing the child.

Child abuse is a class IIIA felony punishable by up to five years in prison, a $10,000 fine or both.
