Citizen’s call leads to arrests of 3 persons for possession of stolen property

LOCATION: S. 66th & Hackberry Road

OFFENSE:  Criminal Mischief / Possession of Stolen Property

CASE:  2010-5120        
On October 24th 2010, the Gage County Sheriff’s Office received a report of numerous subjects tearing up a vehicle at S. 66th & Hackberry Road.  The reporting party advised that all of the subjects jumped into another car and left the scene, leaving one car behind.  The reporting party followed the vehicle while on the phone with Communications. 

An officer with the Beatrice Police Department observed the vehicle westbound on Court Street approaching East Scott Street.  Two Beatrice Police officers and two Gage County deputies initiated a traffic stop on a silver 1998 Buick LeSabre registered to Marcus Cross of Beatrice.  Communications advised that the vehicle that was left at S.66th & Hackberry Road, a 2004 Buick LeSabre registered to Beatrice Concrete Co., was stolen from Beatrice. 

Six subjects were located in the vehicle that was stopped in Beatrice and all six were transported to the Beatrice Police Department for questioning. 

The Gage County Sheriff’s Office arrested 18 year old Joshua Friesen of Beatrice, 19 year old Travis Loseman of Beatrice, and 18 year old Marcus Cross of Beatrice for Criminal Mischief and Possession of Stolen Property. 

Two juveniles were cited and released.  One other juvenile was arrested by the Beatrice Police Department and transported to the Youth Detention Center in Lincoln.

The investigation is ongoing.
