The area in and around city park was the topic of discussions at the Marysville City Council Meeting on Monday. The council approved a 24,600 dollar expenditure to pay the engineering fees on the railbed rehabilitation from Highway 77 to Broadway Street.
The Simmons management corporation and the council members discussed the fundraising efforts underway to renovate Simmon’s Auditorium. SMC reported they had collected 5,800 dollars. During the discussion it was suggested that some givers are concerned that the building is still in the name of the city. Some potential donors are concerned about their donations being used in some way other than intended. In response to that concern the council asked the City Attorney to work with the SMC on the creation of an agreement with SMC that might alleviate those concerns.
Mayor Krug appointed City Administrator Rick Shain to the position of City Administrator for a period of one year.
