State board approves B&B/Nemaha County merger

The State Board of Education has approved the consolidation of two Nemaha County school districts.
The state board gave their approval Wednesday to the consolidation of the Nemaha Valley and
B & B School Districts, clearing the way for a public vote on the issue during the November 2nd general election.
Meanwhile, Nemaha Valley School District Superintendent Darrel Kohlman says two public informational meetings have been schedule on the proposed consolidation.
They will be held next Wednesday, September 22nd at the Nemaha Valley High School and Wednesday, September 29th at the B & B High School north gym. Both meetings will be at 7 p.m.
If approved by a majority of voters in both districts, the consolidation will take effect on July 1st, 2011
