Marysville School Board signs 10 year contract with Pepsi

Marysville School Board met on Wednesday.

Business discussed included setting the Academic Awards Night on November 9, 2010 at 6:30 P.M.

The first day enrollment figures show the headcount down 8 students on the first day of school compared to last year’s official enrollment.  This year’s official count will be on September 20, 2010.

The school district also renewed the 10 year exclusive contract with Pepsi.  According to Supertindent Chris Sexton, Pepsi has provided excellent service and has kept the school ahead of the State’s nutritional requirements.  Currently, no carbonated beverages are available to the students before 5:00 p.m.  Machines open during school hours contain water, Gatorade, juices, and other non-carbonated drinks.  Vending machines also contain healthier items that contain less fat.  According to Sexton, the State is mandating nutrition levels of items sold through drink and other vending machines.  With Pepsi’s help the Marysville Junior and Senior high are far ahead of the nutritional mandates.
