Dr. Roger honored

Dr. Roger Warren was the guest of honor Sunday afternoon at the Kloppenberg Center in Hanover.  Residents and former patients came together to celebrate of his “first 50 years” of medical practice and administration at Hanover Hospital.  Warren, 80, a general practitioner and surgeon, and his wife, Dr. Linda Warren, have shared duties at Hanover Hospital for years while also taking on community and state leadership roles.
Warren, a graduate of the University Of Kansas School Of Medicine, came to Hanover in 1960, shortly after Hanover built a clinic and small hospital.  Warren also had an office in Washington until 1994.  Dr. Roger, as he is known to the community was reunited with his first and second deliveries on Sunday.  His son, Roderick, is now also a practicing surgeon, working at Hiawatha and other area hospitals.  The Warrens have four children, Rene, Regina, Roderick and Rachael.  Over the years, Warren has been county health officer, Hanover mayor, school board member, Zion Lutheran Church governing board member, 4-H instructor, EMT instructor and City Council member, among others.
