Marysville hosts Historic Trails Symposium

The Historic Trails Capitol of Kansas Symposium will be Oct. 8th through the 10th at the National Guard Armory in Marysville. The event is sponsored by the Oregon-California Trails Association and is expected to bring scholars, history buffs and tourists to Marysville.
Registration fees are $35 for individuals and $50 for families. For non-OCTA members an additional $15 fee will apply and they will receive a complimentary one-year membership.
Two available bus tours are available at a cost of 55 dollars per person. One tour goes west and north of Marysville, with stops at Hollenberg Station, the Old West Trails Center in Odell, Neb., Rock Creek Station and Homestead National Monument near Beatrice. A second tour east and south of Marysville will include a railcar excursion across the Big Blue River.  For more information contact the Marysville Chamber of Commerce at 562-3101.
