MHS Band Invites Community Players at Home Games
The Marysville High School Marching Band is looking for community members to play along with the band in the stands during the home high school football games. Band Director Tobias Wood said, “We have a small, but talented band. Many of the band members are working double duty in pads or on the cheer squad. When the student/athletes are busy on the sidelines, it takes a big chunk out of that small band.”
Athletic Director Vernon Golladay is willing to waive the admission charge to any community member who plays with the band in the stands. Mr. Wood has music packets and instruments ready for anyone who would like to practice before committing. “It would be a big help for the kids, and we have fun making music and cheering on the Bulldogs.”
Anyone interested in playing should contact Tobias Wood at 562-5356 or firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a music packet and to get on the pass list.
MJHS Band Members to Play in Homecoming Activities
The MHS Homecoming Parade will be the first public performance for the Marysville 7th and 8th Grade Band as they participate in the festivities. Junior High Drum Major Natasha Love will lead the 43 member band during the parade downtown.
The Junior High band will join the MHS Marching Bulldog Band for the Homecoming crowning ceremony. The combined band will play “I’ll Be There,” recorded by the Jackson 5, arranged by Paul Murtha.
