Kdhe Lessens the Centralia Lake Warning to an Advisory

KDHE has released an update on Centralia City Lake, in Nemaha County.  The KDHE states that levels are improving and the warning has been downgraded to an advisory to allow for boating and fishing at the lake. The advisory continues to discourage all contact with the water for people and pets. KDHE recommends the following precautions be taken:

• Do not drink the lake water
• Avoid swimming, wading or other activities with full body contact of lake water
• Clean fish well, consume only the fillet portion, and discard all other body parts
• Keep pets from having contact with or drinking the water

KDHE continues to monitor the waterways and will take more samples from the lakes next week.
