On Thursday a Wymore man was arrested for second degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony. Kenneth Rainey, 34 was arrested by the Wymore Police Department. According to court documents, Rainey pulled a tire iron from the bed of his pickup and allegedly threatened the victim. The victim continued walking toward Fifth and H Street. Rainey allegedly chased the victim down and struck him in the lower back with the tire iron. The victim’s back was later found to be red, swollen and bleeding. Rainey was taken to the Gage County Detention Center where bond was set at $5,000.
