Beatrice Rescue will help Wymore

Beatrice Fire and Rescue Chief Brian Daake says Beatrice will not station a Rescue unit in Wymore for the next 90 Days.  The Beatrice City Council discussed the arrangement with Wymore at its Monday.  Beatrice mayor Dennis Schuster informed the council that Beatrice proposed an agreement to provide Wymore with emergency coverage for 90 days.  If the proposal is accepted by Wymore Beatrice will receive one-fourth of the funds allocated to Wymore from the county or $10,000 dollars.  Schuster said that after the 90-day agreement expires, a long-term arrangement might be considered.  Daake said that no Beatrice Fire and Rescue workers would be stationed in Wymore under the 90-day agreement. All calls will be dispatched through Beatrice.  Wymore rescue responds to one emergency call every two days.
