B and B School Board tables consolidation

The Nemaha Valley School Board Monday evening adopted a resolution to consolidate with B & B USD 451.
The resolution authorizes the board president to sign a consolidation agreement between the two districts.
The B & B School Board during their meeting Monday evening discussed the consolidation agreement, but tabled action because they had some questions. They also tabled action on the resolution to consolidate. A date hasn’t been set yet for the board to consider the resolutions.
Once adopted by both boards, the consolidation agreement will be sent to the State Board of Education for approval at its September meeting.
Approval by the state board would clear the way for the consolidation question to be placed on the November 2nd general election ballot for voters in both districts.
If approved by voters, the consolidation would take effect July 1st of next year.
