Nemaha Valley school board hold special meeting

Margie Heinen, Nemaha Valley board president called a special meeting to order Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 7:30 p.m.

     Nemaha Valley superintendent Darrel Kohlman reviewed the timeline for the consolidated agreement. The deadline to submit the agreement to the State Board of Education is August 15, 2010 so the Consolidated Agreement can be on the agenda for the State Board of Education meeting in September.  Mr. Kohlman proceeded to review the Agreement for Consolidation. If approved by the State Board of Education the date of the Election will be November 2nd for Approval of the Consolidation.  If approved by voters a Temporary Board of Education will be installed to oversee the consolidation. The board members include:

The Boards of Education of USD 451 and USD 442 have agreed that the date for consolidation of the two districts and for the transfer of assets shall be July 1, 2011.

     The consolidated agreement will have to be voted on by both boards at the August board meetings and submitted to KASB for the final approval.
