Three Vehicle Accident Near Belleville

An accident at a highway construction site just east of Belleville sent 3-people to the hospital late Wednesday afternoon.

16-year old Tanner J. Allen, 21-year old Mason L. Ruft, and 12-year old Payton Ruft were all taken to the Republic County Hospital in Belleville.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol Accident Report, a 2008 Jeep driven by 56-year old Annette R. Baker of Haddam and a 2005 Chevy Pickup driven by 40-year old Stacey Ruft of Scandia, were stopped by a construction flagman on U.S. Highway 36 –about 5-miles east of Belleville.

Tanner Allen’s vehicle hit Stacey Ruft’s truck from behind forcing it into Baker’s Jeep. Mason and Payton Ruft were passengers in Stacy Ruft’s truck.

No report on the condition of the 3-people taken to the hospital.
