A new e-mail scam is circulating in Northeast Kansas. Law enforcement reports that an e-mail is appearing in the inbox of residents.. The email states it’s from PayPal and the recipient’s account has been suspended. In order to return the account to good standing, the recipient is told they must return the e-mail with personal descriptors such as date of birth, social security numbers, bank account numbers and credit card numbers, and other potential identifiers. Residents are reminded not to send out personal or financial information over the internet or telephones.
