A Beatrice man was arrested Wednesday night for allegedly robbing the South Sixth St. Casey’s General Store in Beatrice. According to court documents, Beatrice police were dispatched to Casey’s after receiving a complaint of an assault. The store worker told police that a man, later identified as Edward Perman, 44 of Beatrice, took a 12-pack of Budweiser bottles and an 18-pack of Budweiser cans out of the store without paying. The store employee followed Perman outside and said Perman punched her when she attempted to stop him. According to the clerk Permann got in a car with a female driver and they drove away. The worker noted the license plate which led police to Perman. The Casey’s employee later identified a photo of Perman from a picture lineup as the person who stole the beer and assaulted her. Perman’s vehicle was stopped later in the day and he was arrested for robbery. He is being held at the Gage County Detention Center until bond is set..
