Adult education/General Educational Development classes are scheduled to resume Aug. 2 at Southeast Community College’s Beatrice Campus.
SCC sponsors the Adult Education program in Beatrice. It is a federal and state program that provides basic education skills to individuals who are 16 years of age and older and not enrolled in school. A $20 registration fee is due prior to the first day of class, and pre-registration is required.
The major components of Adult Education include GED preparation for those without a high school diploma; basic skills for those who need to improve in a specific area or enhance their life skills; English as a Second Language for residents who wish to learn to speak, read and write English; and citizenship classes for those wishing to become a U.S. citizen.
For more information about enrolling in class, being a volunteer tutor or to arrange a program about Adult Education for your club or organization, contact the Adult Education office at SCC’s Beatrice Campus at 800-233-5027, ext. 1236.
