Marysville City Council highlights.

The Marysville City Council approved adding a 1% sales tax increase to the ballot this November. The sales tax will initially be used to fund improvements to the Lakeview complex, repairs and additions to the tennis courts in city park, and building a new fire station on the east side of Marysville. If approved by voters the sales tax in Marysville will become 8.3%. There is no sunset clause for this tax meaning the tax will have no expiration date.

The new water tank has been approved for use and is officially online. The water tank located by tension envelope has been shut down for repairs for the next 30-45 days. The city of Marysville is asking citizens to conserve water whenever possible until the tank is back online.

Mayor Bernie Krug and other officials will be present at a ground breaking ceremony Thursday at 1pm. The ceremony will mark the official start of construction on a new senior housing project located at 11th road and Pine Lake.
