Washington County Weekly Sheriffs Report

On May 27th on K 15 just south of 4th Road Brent Wiese, Linn driving a 1987 Chevrolet swerved to miss a deer striking a guardrail. Damage estimated at more than $1,000.00, no injuries were reported.

On June 9th an officer was dispatched to the 100 block of East 7th Street in Washington for the report of criminal damage. Investigation is pending.

On June 12th an officer was dispatched to the Greenleaf Pool for the report of Burglary, Theft, Criminal Damage to Property. Investigation is pending.

On June 12th an officer was dispatched to the area of the Kloppenberg Center in Hanover for the report of a fireworks complaint.

On June 13th on West North Street just west of South Denver Street in Hanover, Herminio Lopez-Santos, Hanover driving a 1994 Buick exited parking lot at a high rate of speed, went off road and struck a utility pole and 2 mailboxes. Hanover EMS was dispatched to the scene. Damage estimated at more than $1,000.00. Lopez- Santos was arrested on pending charges of No Drivers License, Criminal Damage to Property, Leaving the Scene of an injury accident, Failure to Report Accident and fleeing and Eluding. Lopez – Santos was held at the Washington County Jail until his bond was set by the judge. A report will be forwarded to the county attorney.
