A special meeting will be held in Beloit this evening to help anyone who might have to disturb painted surfaces better understand new regulations in what is called the new Lead-Based Paint Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule.
Tom Langer with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment Lead Program will be conducting the Town Hall Meeting which will be held in Beloit at the North Central Regional Planning Commission Building at 6:30-PM.
Troy Odle from All Things Exterior says the new law requires contractors to take more safety precautions.

The Environmental Protection Agency granted KDHE the authority to implement and enforce regulations that apply to residential housing, apartments, and child-occupied facilities built before 1978.
The new law went into effect April 9th.
